First Steps

No pictures this time, but at about 3:30 this afternoon (I work till 4) I got a call at work from Meg. Normally when I get a call from her about that time the message is, "the boy is driving me nuts, hurry home." Today, however, it was exciting news, Patrick took his first unsupported steps today. He pulled himself up on the couch, and took 2 or 3 steps before falling into Meg. Later, when I got home, he repeated the feat a couple of times for me. Making an otherwise dreary day in Central Illinois, a very bright one.

For those recruiting gurus out there (Dave, Kanka, I'm looking at you), Patrick's 40 time is still on the slow side, but he's demonstrated quick foot turnover, and is working on his hip swivel.

That's awesome. I'll take it as a good sign that your son picked my birthday to take his first steps. ;-)

Yeah, but it looks like he already has good field vision. And before you know it, you'll be cursing his jukability.

By the way, congrats. I'll bring my stop watch next weekend so we can work on the shuttle run.
